"11 Empty Bottles" by The Tosspints (Hard Rock Aritst from Michigan(MI))

The Tosspints, a talented trio of musicians, and their latest released album, "11 Empty Bottles," is a collection of raucous and rambunctious Celtic Punk/Folk songs that are aimed at infusing their listeners with energy and telling a couple dark and jaded stories along the way. The fast paced song,"1 Beer, 1 Shot, 1 Memory" offers up some free spirited lyrics swirling around strong and solid drum beats. The Punk sounding song, "Young Girl, Bad Idea" is energetic with crisp vocals projecting attitude while the drums deliver a fury of riffs and beats. "My Own Sinking Ship" is a song that uses entertaining and quick paced lyrics along with the band harmonizing with whimsical style over a duple beat. This album is a great collection of entertaining and rowdy songs and if you are a fan of Flogging Molly or Gogol Bordello then you will really enjoy the Tosspints latest CD, "11 Empty Bottles."

"Blind Date" by Gregg Koval (Rock Artist from Ontario, Canada)

Gregg Koval and his latest album, "Blind Date," is a CD filled with aggressive, gritty, yet fun-loving Rock songs. "Ransom Note" is a song that kicks in with wailing guitars and a chunky bass line as Koval's vocals enters with sharp flowing tonality. Another song, "Let Yourself Go," is a song that uses a catchy walking blues beat while sweet guitar licks complement the emotive vocals. The track, "Setback," is a good old-fashioned rock ballad in which the hypnotic vocals and well balanced instruments capture a rootsy and melodic ambiance. All-in-all this is an album filled with an energetic collection of straight-up, party-friendly, Rock and Roll. If you are a fan of ZZ Top or Joe Walsh, you will thoroughly enjoy Gregg Koval's album, "Blind Date."

"Funkmeister" by Hugh Jarvis Hitchcock (Pop Artist from Florida(FL))

Hugh Jarvis Hitchcock and his debut CD, "Funkmeister" is an album that spans fluently across many genres. At some moments it's urban and jazzy, other times it's 80's music with some world beat flare. Female vocals, keyboards, and a drum machine make for some smooth, catchy, and fun songs. The album is best represented by the track, "Out of Control," as it has a fast paced world drum beat, jazzy saxophone, and a funky bass line that really moves. The stand out single is "All I Know" as this song offers a slower moving beat with soft and sweet vocals. "Funkmeister" will surprise you at every turn, from its ever-changing genre, to samples of George W. Bush speeches and is definitely a great album to hear if you're looking for a variety of music with vibrant rhythms.

"American Peace" by Tapped (Rock Artist from Michigan(MI))

"American Peace," the 2009 album by Tapped is a mix of original rock and roll even the Fab Four would be proud of. Taking their influence from a range of artists such as The Kinks, Cheap Trick, and even Bill Haley and The Comets, this group creates an album with vibrant melodies and lively rhythms. Clean vocals garnish some straightforward but solid lyrics. Tracks like "Roadhouse Paradise" show off some serious bluesy musicianship. Others like "But I Need You" and the CD opener "She Said He's Dead" are driven powerhouses. Tapped has compiled a wonderful collection of music which pulls blues, country, new styles and old to create a fantastic sound all their own.

"Better Than Ever" by IYAM (Rock Artist from Texas(TX))

Released for '09, IYAM's "Better Than Ever" CD, a collection of Classic Rock with Heavy Metal theatrics, sounds as fresh and relevant as ever. Since the likes of Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath popularized grandiose, anthem like Hard Rock virtues back in the day, many other sub-genres of Rock have come and gone, but Hard Rock and Metal's appeal has never waned. IYAM prove themselves accomplished purveyors in their own right, displaying said virtues on an album that hits all the right marks: songs built on riffs of unstoppable force, slashing lead guitar work worthy of Randy Rhodes, well-crafted and exemplary lyrics that get to the heart of what Metal is all about; and a singer with the rage, fire, and immediacy to bring it all home. Highlights include "Witches And Warlocks," built on a thundering blues riff, CD-opener "All Is Well," a rocker with soaring hooks, and "Going Through The Motions," with its Gothic atmosphere. IYAM's "Better Than Ever" CD is, simply, well-executed and powerful classic hard rock.

"Music." by Robin Horlock (Rock Artist from Michigan(MI))

Robin Horlock's aptly titled third CD; "Music." is an 11-song collection of tuneful, well-constructed songs that reflect the singer's Adult Contemporary experiences to great effect. Noted for the relaxed but soulful passion in his vocals, Horlock delivers hook-filled, guitar-based tunes with the ease and capability of a Jack Johnson or John Mayer, but without surrendering his own considerable uniqueness. Employing extremely tasteful blends of acoustic and electric fretwork throughout, "Music." highlights consist of Adult Contemporary gems that showcase styles ranging from California-style soft rock "Here & Now" to post-Eagles Don Henley pop-rock "Everything Falls Apart." On "The Difference Between Day and Night" Horlock even seems to channel the '70's-era voice of John Sebastian, while "Life Goes On" features spare but distinctly affective sax lines to flesh out a stirring anthem of hope. Simply put, "Music." is another strong CD from an artist whose instincts for savvy and smart adult pop are spot-on.

"Oneman" by Brother Todd (Rock Artist from Detroit, Michigan (MI))

"Oneman" is the appropriately titled new release from Michigan based one-man-band Todd Bendler, also known as "Brother Todd." His humble, haunting vocal style lingers in the lower register, giving this album a deep, dark and unique quality. His storytelling lyrics are thought provoking, inspirational, and at times humorous, giving the listener a distinct look into his personality. The entire album is written and produced by Todd, composing the songs on the piano and guitar and then adding the vocals, drum parts and additional parts if needed. Todd also plays all the instruments on each track apart from "You Lift Me Up" and "Gunslinger," where Guy Hedrick plays lead guitar. His music is honest and uplifting with many lyrics about the struggles of everyday life, where Todd offers inspiration. Listen to the heartening "You Lift Me Up" and moving "Dance My Dance." "I'm Feeling Fine" and "I Can't Sing the Blues" are of a more playful, lighthearted nature, with Todd showing his humorous side. Fans of inspirational and contemplative rock should definitely check out Brother Todd's "Oneman."
